Notes & Special Instructions
➤ Chains at beginning of a round/row NEVER count as a stitch.
➤ I tend to crochet TIGHT, so you may need to adjust your hook size to accommodate.
➤ This pattern can be made in all 1 color or 2 (or more) colors: IF using multiple colors, continue to use same color until pattern states to use a new Color (A or B). Color B will be color used on PUFF rows.
➤ I suggest using the invisible join for a seamless look when finishing off the border.

IMAGINATION STEERING WHEEL COVER PATTERN
NOTES: | TURN at end of EVERY row. There is no real FRONT side … pick which side you like best! End of row st count will remain same (ODD number) throughout. Regardless of starting st count, on EVERY row ALWAYS make 1 SC in each of first 2 & last 2 sts. Follow st pattern repeat in between 2 SCs on each end. |
Row 1: | NOTE: Beginning chain amount is a suggestion. You can change width by adjusting starting chain to any EVEN number (resulting in an ODD end of row st count). Keep in mind that TRIM will add approximately another 1” to overall width. With Color A: Chain 14. 1 SC in 2nd back bump from hook, 1 SC in next back bump, 1 DC in each st across to last 2 sts, 1 SC in each of last 2 back bumps. |
Row 2: | Ch1, 1 SC in 1st and 2nd sts, 1 DC in next st. PUFF in next st, 1 DC in next st. Repeat across to last 2 sts. 1 SC in each of last 2 sts. |
Row 3: | With Color A: Ch1, 1 SC in 1st and 2nd sts, 1 DC in each st across to last 2 sts, 1 SC in each of last 2 sts. |
Row 4: | Ch1, 1 SC in 1st and 2nd sts, 1 DC in next st. PUFF in next st, 1 DC in next st. Repeat across to last 2 sts. 1 SC in each of last 2 sts. |
Rows 5-*112: | Average Steering Wheel diameter sizes: Most vehicles = 14-17” Sports cars = 10-13” Repeat Rnds 3 - 4 *as many times as needed for piece to fit snugly when stretched around steering wheel. TIP: Wrap cover around your steering wheel to confirm sizing before you seam & add trim. |
SEAM: | After final repeat (ending on “PUFF” row): Fold piece in half, with your choice of RIGHT/FRONT side of short ends facing each other. SS short ends together, working through FULL (both loops) of both sides. Do NOT fasten off. Proceed to TRIM Pattern. |
TRIM PATTERN
NOTES: | Use color of choice for TRIM rnds. At end of every rnd: SS join to 1st st of rnd and do NOT turn. Both TRIM rounds are worked with your choice of RIGHT/FRONT side facing you. |
Rnd 1: | Ch1, 1 SC at end of each row around |
Rnd 2: | NOTE: You may want to use a smaller hook size on this round so TRIM does not get wavy. Ch1, SS in next st. Repeat around. Fasten off using invisible join to 1st st of rnd. Weave in ends. |
OTHER SIDE | With your chosen RIGHT/FRONT side facing you, SS join yarn at seam on opposite side. Repeat BOTH TRIM rounds. |
