Monthly Free Pattern: Mini Bowl Cozies

Updated: Feb 14

The “Mini Bowl Cozies“ pattern is also available as a premium PDF download on Ravelry.

“Mini Bowl Cozies” are made with 100% cotton and they act as a built-in potholder around your bowl. Simply set your bowl in it, pop it in the microwave and no more burnt fingers when you remove it from the microwave!

Pattern includes instructions for 2 sizes: LARGE fits a 2/2.5 Cup Pampered Chef Prep Bowls, as well as individual cups of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, Rice A Roni, etc. SMALL fits a 1/1.5 Cup Pampered Chef Prep Bowls.

These unique sizes are great when warming small amounts of food in your microwave.

Pattern offers 3 different border options to pick from to give just the right finishing touch to your bowl cozy.

Materials ➤ Yarn: 100% Cotton – #4 / Worsted Weight (Such as Lily Sugar ‘n Cream.) ➤ Yardage: 35-50 yds Hook: 4.5 mm ➤ Stitch Markers, Scissors, & Darning Needle

Stitches & Abbreviations US Terminology ➤ * * = Repeat stitch pattern between * * ➤ Ch# = Chain number of times specified ➤ St/Sts = Stitch/Stitches ➤ SS = Slip Stitch ➤ SC = Single Crochet ➤ HDC = Half Double Crochet ➤ TLO = Third Loop Only – Moogly video tutorial ➤ DC = Double Crochet

Notes & Special Instructions: ➤ The LARGE size also fits individual cups of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, Rice A Roni, etc. ➤ Stitch pattern for the final round before EDGING is in sets of: 4 ➤ Chains at beginning of a round/row NEVER count as a stitch. ➤ Total number of stitches per round/row in (#) at end. ➤ I tend to crochet TIGHT, so you may need to adjust your hook size to accommodate. ➤ When the pattern says “Pull yarn loop at join to back of work”: Remove hook from yarn, at join insert hook from back to front, grab yarn loop & pull through stitch. This will help give it a more finished look. If you do not like the look of this, just continue as normal ➤ I suggest using the invisible join for a seamless look when finishing off.
