*BONUS* Monthly Free Pattern: Easter Egg Coaster

ONE “Monthly Free Pattern” was not enough for this month! I just had to share this BONUS free pattern with you so you had time to make some for Easter! I hope you enjoy it!

These adorable 100% cotton Easter Egg coasters will be a great addition to your Easter décor!


The premium PDF includes patterns for 3 different coasters &

a great little egg shaped basket to hold your coasters when the coasters are not in use.


Patterns include: Egg 1: Uses 1 color throughout (or alternate colors for each row). Egg 2: Uses 2 colors to create a checkerboard in the middle. Egg 3: Uses 2 colors to create a cross in the middle.

Egg Shaped Basket: To hold Egg Coasters while not in use. NOTE: To get the pattern for the Basket & Eggs 2 & 3 designs,

you will need to purchase the PDF (linked above).

You could use the little egg shaped basket to hold little treats for your children’s classmates or your co-workers. The coasters would make an adorable Easter garland when strung together. Materials Yarn: 100% Cotton – #4 / Worsted Weight (Such as Lily Sugar ‘n Cream.) ➤ Yardage: 120 yds (for 4 coasters & basket) ➤ Hooks: 4.5 mm ➤ Stitch Markers ➤ Scissors ➤ Darning Needle

Notes & Special Instructions You can work this pattern in all 1 color, do the colorwork as written in the PDF pattern instructions, or add different colored stripes. ➤ Chains at beginning of a round/row NEVER count as a stitch. ➤ Total number of stitches per round/row in (#) at end. ➤ I tend to crochet TIGHT, so you may need to adjust your hook size to accommodate. ➤ I suggest using the invisible join for a seamless look when finishing off. Easter Egg #1 Pattern

NOTES:

Use 1 color throughout *OR* alternate colors for stripes.

On EVEN numbered rows the RIGHT side of your work will be facing you.

Row 1:

Ch 7, 1 SC in 2nd back bump from the hook, 1 SC in each back bump of starting chain. Turn (6)

Row 2:

Ch1, 2 SC in 1st st, 1 SC in each of next 4 st, 2 SC in last st. Turn (8)

Row 3:

Ch1, 2 SC in 1st st, 1 SC in each of next 6 st, 2 SC in last st. Turn (10)

Row 4:

Ch1, 2 SC in 1st st, 1 SC in each of next 8 st, 2 SC in last st. Turn (12)

Row 5:

Ch1, 2 SC in 1st st, 1 SC in each of next 10 st, 2 SC in last st. Turn (14)

Rows 6-10:

Ch1, 1 SC in each st across. Turn (14)

Row 11:

Ch1, SC2TOG, 1 SC in each of next 10 st, SC2TOG. Turn (12)

Rows 12-13:

Ch1, 1 SC in each st across. Turn (12)

Row 14:

Ch1, SC2TOG, 1 SC in each of next 8 st, SC2TOG. Turn (10)

Row 15:

Ch1, 1 SC in each st across. Turn (10)

Row 16:

Ch1, SC2TOG, 1 SC in each of next 6 st, SC2TOG. Turn (8)

Row 17:

Ch1, 1 SC in each st across. Turn (8)

Row 18:

Ch1, SC2TOG, 1 SC in each of next 4 st, SC2TOG. Turn (6)

Row 19:

Ch1, SC2TOG, 1 SC in each of next 2 st, SC2TOG. Turn (4)

Row 20:

Ch1, 1 SC in 1st st, SC2TOG, 1 SC in last st. Do NOT turn (3)

Border Pattern

NOTE:

Work continuously around the egg to add the border.

Row 1:

Down LEFT side: Ch1, place 1 SC at the end of each row. (19)

Row 2:

Across BOTTOM edge: SK 1st st, SS in next st, 1 SC in each of next 2 st, SS in next st, SK last st. (4)

Row 3:

Up RIGHT side: Place 1 SC at the end of each row. (19)

Row 4:

Across TOP edge: 1 SC in 1st st, 1 HDC in next st, 1 SC in last st. (3)


Invisible join (or SS) to the ch1 at the beginning of the border.

Fasten off. Weave in ends.
